Mollie C. Malone Receives 2015 Phi Kappa Phi Love of Learning Award

Mollie C. Malone of Tanner, Ala., recently was awarded a Love of Learning award worth $500 from The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi--the nation's oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines. Malone is one of 80 recipients nationwide to receive the award.

Malone plans to apply funds from the award to purchase textbooks and supplies for graduate coursework in early childhood education.

Malone was initiated into the Society in 2013 at University of North Alabama.

The Love of Learning program, implemented in 2007, grants 160 awards annually to support active Society members' graduate or professional studies, doctoral dissertations, continuing education, career development, and travel related to teaching and studies. The Society's robust award programs give more than $1 million each biennium to qualifying students and members through graduate fellowships, undergraduate study abroad grants, member and chapter awards, and grants for local and national literacy initiatives.
