Nicolas Emilfork Diaz Receives 2015 Phi Kappa Phi Love of Learning Award

Nicolas Emilfork Diaz of Santiago de Chile, Region Metropolitana, recently was awarded a Love of Learning award worth $500 from The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi--the nation's oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines. Emilfork Diaz is one of 80 recipients nationwide to receive the award.

Diaz, doctoral student at The University of Texas at Austin, plans to use funds from the award to attend the Guitar Foundation of America International Convention 2015.

Emilfork Diaz was initiated into the Society in 2013 at The University of Texas at Austin.

The Love of Learning program, implemented in 2007, grants 160 awards annually to support active Society members' graduate or professional studies, doctoral dissertations, continuing education, career development, and travel related to teaching and studies. The Society's robust award programs give more than $1 million each biennium to qualifying students and members through graduate fellowships, undergraduate study abroad grants, member and chapter awards, and grants for local and national literacy initiatives.
