Baton Rouge, LA (09/03/2026) — Sharhonda Rush, MBA, MPP, North America marketing manager for BlackLine, has begun her term as past president of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.

Rush moves into the role after serving as president during the 2024-26 term. As past president, she will continue her service on the Society's Board of Directors during the 2026-28 term, providing leadership and continuity as Phi Kappa Phi advances its strategic priorities.

Rush's term as president was marked by significant steps to position Phi Kappa Phi for the future. Under her leadership, the Society developed a new strategic plan, modernized its governance structure and election process, and placed increased emphasis on philanthropy to support the Society's mission and long-term impact.

"Serving as your president during this historic term has been profoundly meaningful," said Rush. "For the past three years, our National Board of Directors and national office staff have dedicated ourselves to the critical work of implementing the objectives laid out in our ambitious strategic plan. I am so proud of the work we've all done together to bring that plan to life, and I'm confident that it will position Phi Kappa Phi for a strong and vibrant future."

Rush is a seasoned accounting and business operations professional with more than 25 years of experience in financial systems, process improvement and organizational leadership. Throughout her career, she has led complex operational initiatives, managed enterprise technology implementations and helped organizations improve efficiency through strategic planning and business process optimization.

An experienced Society leader, Rush was initiated into Phi Kappa Phi through the Jacksonville University chapter in 2016 and was first elected to the Society's Board of Directors in 2020. During her service, she has chaired the Finance and Budget Committee and worked closely with the Board and executive leadership team to advance the Society's strategic priorities.

Rush earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Christopher Newport University and both an MBA and Master of Public Policy from Jacksonville University. She brings a unique combination of corporate leadership, financial expertise and nonprofit governance experience to the Society.
