Phi Kappa Phi Annual Report Showcases Achievements of 2020

Baton Rouge, LA (05/13/2021) — The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society, today announced the publication of its 2020 Annual Report.

The report, themed Focus on Excellence, showcases a number of achievements of the past year made possible through the generosity of donors to Phi Kappa Phi. Because of this generous support, the Society was able to expand upon its mission in 2020 to recognize and promote academic excellence.

"We're proud to highlight some of our remarkable award recipients in this year's annual report. Their love of learning and focus on excellence embody the spirit of Phi Kappa Phi," said Society Executive Director Dr. Mary Todd. "Despite the many challenges of 2020, our members demonstrated their commitment to excellence through donations and volunteer service, and for that we are tremendously thankful."

The report features a stunning design with photos and infographics, stories of Phi Kappa Phi award winners and members, chapter happenings and much more.

Highlights of the 2020 Annual Report include:

  • The increase of the Society's awards program to more than $1 million annually.

Phi Kappa Phi was founded in 1897 when Marcus L. Urann, a student, brought to his professor the idea of creating a different kind of honor society-one that recognized excellence in all academic disciplines. Today, the Society has chapters on more than 325 select campuses in the United States and the Philippines and inducts approximately 30,000 new members each year. Membership is by invitation only to the top 7.5 percent of juniors and the top 10 percent of seniors and graduate students, along with faculty, professional staff and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction.

Phi Kappa Phi inducts approximately 30,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni annually. The Society has chapters on more than 325 select colleges and universities in the United States and the Philippines. Membership is by invitation only to the top 10 percent of seniors and graduate students and 7.5 percent of juniors. Faculty, professional staff and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction also qualify.
